Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa recently played host to members of the Association for Wedding Professionals International (AFWPI) from North America. AFWPI is an international organization dedicated to providing quality service and to be a central source of information and referrals for people planning weddings and for those who service weddings. AFWPI has been providing services since 1995 and counts among its members some of the key planners in the industry. The group was led by its President, Richard Markel, and was accompanied by Department of Tourism Team North America Head, Corazon Jorda-Apo.
To demonstrate weddings Filipino-style, the resort hosted a La Mar wedding reception with the help of the Association of Sugbu Wedding Planners and Coordinators. The event also gave these local wedding suppliers the chance to showcase their products and services
to the North American wedding planners.
